About Cascade:

Cascade has providing behavioral health services to Lewis County and surrounding areas for more than 50 years. Our mission is to provide our clients with compassionate and encouraging counseling leading to a renewed sense of hope and the ability to make positive changes and live more satisfying lives. We currently have five locations providing outpatient services in Lewis County.

This position is part-time Program Assistant and Part-time Peer Counselor. The ACT Program Assistant / Peer Counselor performs a variety of complex clerical and administrative duties with minimal supervision. Responsibilities may include coordinating communication between team and clients, assisting clients, families, and other agencies in getting answers to questions, de-escalating situations, maintaining client confidentiality, and providing general clerical support to clinical and medical staff as assigned. As a Certified Peer Counselor, this position will also act as a coach and mentor, and help clients set goals and work toward developing skills.

This position is Day Shift, Monday – Friday

Cascade Community Healthcare, as a health care facility, must comply with the Washington State Governor’s mandatory vaccination proclamation. The proclamation states all employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 18th. Exemptions from the vaccine requirement are allowed for those individuals who are entitled to a disability-related reasonable accommodation or a sincerely held religious belief accommodation.

What You’ll Do:

Provide excellent customer service to clients, staff, and guests.

Direct clients or guests to the appropriate person or department.

Answer telephone, schedule client appointments, data entry, and filing.

Create and distribute marketing materials.

Distribute incoming mail, prepare, and send outgoing mail.

Share personal experiences and what skills, strengths, supports, and resources used to aid in recovery. Peer will act as facilitator in these discussions and will demonstrate how they directed their own recovery.

Assist clients in developing, attaining, or maintaining community living skills.

Assist clients in working with their case manager or treatment team in determining the steps needed to take to achieve treatment goals.

Medication monitoring as directed.

Enter and extract client data as required from Electronic Health Record.

Provides reports in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 guidelines and regulations.

Participates in other selected activities at the direction of the Program Manager of ACT.

What you’ll need to get the job done:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Must be a WA State Certified Peer Counselor or must start process to obtain within 30-days.

WA State Department of Health Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential required.

Experience in medical, mental health or social services field preferred.

Must be able to pass WA State Patrol and/or national background checks.

Must have valid driver’s license and must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle.

Excellent clerical and/or administrative skills.

Basic knowledge of money management and good math skills.

Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems.

Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

General computer proficiency, including the ability to utilize electronic medical record systems and accurate typing and word processing skills.

Must be able to represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.

Must maintain current home telephone and address on file with the Human Resources office.
