Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking an individual that is passionate about gardening, working with youth, and increasing access to locally-grown, healthy foods.
The Summer Garden Manager will develop and help manage a community garden that will be a worksite for 2 to 4 youth from HAPCAP’s employment programs. With the assistance of the participants, the Garden Manager will care for the upkeep of the garden and plan ways to distribute produce.
The Manager will also be responsible for developing programming: They will plan two agriculture-based career exploration opportunities that will be offered to program participants across all three counties. They will also provide healthy living programming, including putting together bi-weekly meal kits and recipes using garden produce to be distributed to participants. Lastly, they will also maintain an Instagram profile by sharing gardening tips, recipes, and healthy living advice to the greater public.
We are looking for applicants who are capable of working both individually and as a team, and possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills. This position will be based at the Regional Food Center, located in Logan, OH. The program benefits include a stipend and choice of education award or end of service stipend. The position will start on 6/6/2022 and end on 8/14/2022.
