The Ferguson Florissant School District is seeking an outstanding leader for the position of Assistant Director of Restoration and Wellness. Ferguson Florissant School District is committed to challenging students to achieve academic excellence and personal success by providing state-of-the-art instruction and a challenging curriculum within a warm, caring environment in partnership with dedicated parents, staff, and community.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Assist the director with the monitoring of procedures for the screening, placement, evaluation, assignment, and reappraisal of students with regard to alternative education
Assist with ensuring students have access to appropriate social-emotional supports to include counseling, therapeutic interventions, and holistic care
Assist with coordinating the development, implementation, and revision of the curriculum and practices for alternative education with curriculum supervisors
Assist with ensuring all students are college, career, and/or work ready
Assist with ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding alternative education
Assist with interpreting alternative education instruction to the Board of Education, staff, parents, and the community
Assist principals, administrators, and teachers with understanding alternative education and making appropriate referrals for student placement and transition
Meet with parents/guardians and students to detail the alternative education program, resolve concerns, and implement District’s Student Expectation Code policies and actions
Assists with monitoring and tracking progress towards graduation
Assist with ensuring implementation of personalized education plans
Assess and identify program needs and provide recommendations regarding future equipment, site, program and personnel requirements
Assist with transitioning students who have attended the alternative education program back to the comprehensive school setting.
Assist with supervising, evaluating and directing the work of alternative education personnel
Assist with supervising, planning and providing professional development programs for assigned professional staff as appropriate
Assist with facilitating interagency planning between the school division and external service providers such as regional programs, court services, and detention centers
Work collaboratively with the special education department to coordinate services to special needs students served in alternative education
Assists with supporting and monitoring the virtual program.
Assist with ensuring accurate record keeping of students receiving alternative education instructional services.
Perform other duties as assigned.


Master’s Degree and valid Missouri Administrative Certification (or eligible to obtain the requisite certification within 90 days of hire).
Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of school administration
Knowledge of behavioral health services and therapeutic interventions, especially in the school setting strongly preferred
Commitment to ensuring that all students achieve at high levels
Proven instructional leadership ability
Well versed in restorative and trauma-informed practices
Management skills and ability in planning, organization, task completion, and decision-making
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Must have commitment to the individual worth, dignity, potential, and success of each child
Experience in data-driven decision making
At least 3 years of administrative experience preferred
Commitment to District’s Equity Resolution

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Assigned to 260 day work calendar; 8 hours per day vary; compensation and benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life) as provided by the Board of Education.
