POSITION SUMMARY:
The Office of Information Technology is responsible for selecting, deploying and supporting software, hardware and telecommunication resources for the 400+ staff members and 200 volunteers of the Central Administrative Offices (CAO) of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington (CDA), the Arlington Catholic Herald (ACH), and the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington (CCDA) to utilize in fulfilling their mission within the Diocese.
The Information Technology Office is a group of generalists divided into network and application services teams that collaborate on delivering services and projects. The Network Services team is primarily focused on the infrastructure, security and productivity software for the three entities. The network is a two-domain environment with a single AD forest and includes 15 remote Catholic Charities Offices (CC) using point-to-point VPN.
The Assistant Systems Administrator is primarily responsible for user account administration for the 400+ employees and 200+ volunteers that support the three entities. This position is the first point of contact for administration and troubleshooting of Active Directory, Office 365, Teams, Adobe and other productivity applications. The Assistant System Administrator will also develop training resources and deliver new hire orientation and productivity suite training to users. This position will provide back-up support to the help desk team.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Act as primary administrator for new user onboarding, including creation and configuration of user accounts in Active Directory, Office 365 and other productivity applications.
Perform moves, adds, changes (MACs) for user accounts and productivity applications.
Act as initial point of contact to troubleshoot Active Directory and Office 365 user accounts.
Provide support, troubleshooting and resolution for Office 365 mailboxes and calendars.
Act as initial point of contact to troubleshoot support issues for productivity software products (e.g., Adobe, Extensis, Portfolio).
Act as primary administrator for Office 365 collaboration applications such as Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Forms, PowerAutomate, etc.
Provide training to CDA, CCDA and ACH staff members on Office 365 collaboration applications (Teams and One Drive), Microsoft Forms, PowerAutomate, etc.
Partner with staff and other departments to implement and utilize existing Office 365 collaboration applications.
Act as primary administrator for Adobe Creative Cloud suite including licensing, installation, management and account access.
Act as initial point of contact to troubleshoot Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
Act as primary administrator and provide first-tier troubleshooting and support for Track-It, DRIVVE, Serv U, Extensis and Portfolio.
Deliver IT portion of new hire orientation training.
Identify and/or develop and deliver training for the Office 365 productivity applications.
Draft weekly productivity suite Tech Tips for internal distribution to CAO staff.
Create an online training library for productivity suite applications.
Assist with quarterly reviews of user accounts.
Assist with annual access control review of financial audit.
Track and manage all Office 365 user and application licenses.
Provide back-up support to help desk team.
Act as secondary administrator and point of contact for Azure Active Directory environment, including user accounts, email accounts, security groups, distribution groups, etc.
Execute daily monitoring of systems (Office 365, Active Directory, Teams and other enterprise applications).
Provide technical assistance and support for disaster recovery scenarios.
Act as on-call primary point of contact for after hours and weekend infrastructure issues for one-week rotations every four to six weeks
Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge/Skills:
Expert knowledge of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Suite.
Advanced knowledge of Office 365 collaboration applications such as Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft Forms, etc.
Intermediate knowledge of Windows Active Directory environment.
Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server 2012/R2, Server 2016 and Server 2019.
Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud suite software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Technology-related field preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: A+ and Network + preferred. Candidate will need to acquire Microsoft 365 Associate Certification within first 12 months of employment.
Years and Types of Experience: Three-plus years’ experience in Tech support with at least two years providing direct support to end users, with exposure to network and server administration a plus. One to two years of training experience delivering both presentations and hands-on training, in person and remotely, is preferred
