SUMMARY:
Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment and communicates these to production supervisor.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Updates HR regarding resolution of these issues.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Assists QC in the inspection of products to verify conformance to specifications.
Replenishes packaging supplies such as film, boxes, stamp, ink, stamp pads, paper, forms, pens, tape guns and tape.
Monitors miscellaneous supplies such as towels, cleaning fluids, safety equipment and dust masks and requests these from sanitation department.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Requests additional staffing through Production Supervisor and trains these individuals.
Maintains worker time records.
Complies with all established standard operating procedures for the Cello Department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises 7-12 employees in the Cello Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and basic appraisal of performance in conjunction with HR;
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to write simple reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems with few concrete variables in standardized situations.
