Communications Coordinator Job Description Concept Schools is a nonprofit charter management organization that provides a high-quality, STEM-focused, and college-preparatory education through a network of charter schools while offering exceptional programs, comprehensive services, and opportunities to partner in education. The duties of the Communications Coordinator are diverse and multi-faceted; therefore, excellent professional skills are vital for this role. The communications coordinator reports directly to the Chief Strategic Growth & Communications Officer. Responsibilities

Manage the daily monitoring of Concept social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), email CRM and website chatbot
Create content for the Social Media Channels taking into account consumer insights and channel specificities
Oversee day-to-day community management on social – foster dialog, answer questions or comments, escalate and resolve issues, and advise on potential opportunities, ensuring brand compliance, quality assurance, and timely response as needed
Pull and analyze social listening and performance data from native and third-party social media platforms for reporting
Write content for both print and web, including the company website, blog, brochures, and newsletters
Contribute to the planning and implementation of communications strategy
Identify and resolve any issues with promotional content in a timely and professional manner
Collaborate with the graphic design team to create various marketing materials for Concept and Concept network schools
Ensure the accuracy and clarity of all materials
Collaborate with Concept and Concept network schools to establish and maintain effective communications and marketing strategies
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, journalism, or related field
Three to five (3-5) years of direct experience in marketing management, communications, or journalism role, including the handling of organization communications, original writing and editing, and communications across social media platforms
At least three (3) years of experience managing social media accounts for a non-profit organization or brand.
At least three (3) years of experience managing email communications for a non-profit organization or brand
In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere), WordPress (or similar content management system), MailChimp (or similar email distribution system), Eventbrite (or similar event scheduling system), Google Suite
Experienced social media user with a deep understanding of popular social media platforms, trends, and digital communications strategies; willingness to experiment with and learn best practices for new platforms, required.
Basic knowledge of social media metrics reporting, and the ability to share insights on a continual basis with communications and development teams, preferred. Experience obtaining project estimates from, negotiating with, and managing external partners and vendors, preferred.
Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong writing skills for online articles, social media posts, and mass email communications
Strong content production and editing skills for digital platforms including photography, video, and audio
Self-directed, organized, ability to prioritize, execute and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with great attention to detail
Flexibility and willingness to cover rare events on evenings, weekends, and other non-working hours
Willingness to collaborate as a member of a small marketing team to “triage” time-sensitive requests and deliver high-quality work to colleagues and constituents
Active team player, ability to interact appropriately and collaborate with individuals across various departments and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization, and respectfully engage with people of diverse races, cultures, and religions
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Creative-minded team player who is a fast learner, quick worker, open to feedback, and has a sense of humor
Assumes responsibility and ownership for work issues, problems, and performance
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Adherence to Concept Schools policies/procedures and standards
Estimated breakdown of work time expectations

40% – Managing social media Concept network accounts
25% – Creating promotional content for Concept and network schools
15% – Providing guidance and support to Concept network schools
15% – Analyzing communications data, generating reports, suggestions for growth
5% – Working as part of a team to facilitate Concept events
Salary Range: $60,000 – 75,000
