As part of ULearn, Comcast’s internal Learning & Development organization, you can be a part of developing employees and leaders to create exceptional customer experiences across video, mobile, internet, and entertainment. We are currently hiring for a Content Editor to join the Learning Experience Design team in ULearn. In this role, you will partner within and across multiple teams to bring learning to life via the written word. The right candidate is a self-motivated, independent, and critical thinker with wide-ranging writing skills and an inherent understanding of branding, tone, and voice.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
The content editor will be responsible for the creation, execution, and delivery of written content across channels such as digital learning, descriptions in Workday, email text, video scripting, and more.
In addition, this person analyzes which content works best to drive usage and increase memorability, and ensures all learning products’ text meet delivery specs and appropriate format for online/print/verbal distribution. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience. You collaborate across the organization to co-create impactful learning, including but not limited to:
Writes, reviews, edits, and manages creative and technical content for a variety of learning products
Adapts language and style to reflect brand voice and tone
Partners with the ULearn team to create template library and conducts audits to ensure the value, organization, and consistency of existing content
Partners closely with cross-functional partners inclusive of learning product development teams
Regularly collaborates with our Workday/LMS and product marketing teams to ensure copy and design complement one another and are aligned with other learner-facing content and experiences.
Improve quality design and enhance user experience
Writes and/or edits online articles and announcements and other related, informative or promotional materials
Reads copy or proofs to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation and syntax.
Allocates space for story text, photos and illustrations according to space parameters and copy significance using knowledge of layout principles.
Merges content from a variety of sources to create unified, appropriate content
Re-edits to create text that meets the objectives of the organization
Influences and maintains standards for written content across a variety of learning modalities
Maintains a strong grasp of layout principals for web; ability to select, size, prep and create new images for web using Photoshop.
Socializing proposed content choices, listening for both passive and active feedback and iterating based on that feedback along the way
Creating inclusive learner experiences, including using global accessibility standards and ensuring that all learners, regardless of identity, feel included and represented in your content
Developing online or print-based learning materials adhering to ULearn internal style and brand guidelines
Applying Agile/Scrum methodology to co-create products, test, deploy, and improve in an iterative fashion
Planning your work, monitoring progress, and documenting project issues through an online project management tool, you communicate risks and needs with others and don’t “wait” for someone else to manage your time and deliverables
Prioritizing quality assurance across multiple standards of excellence
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

REQUIRED SKILLS

You are able to be proficient with the Microsoft Office family, especially, powerpoint, outlook, word, teams, and excel

You navigate ambiguity, work well under pressure, and adapt quickly to changing information and priorities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BSor equivalentin experience and non-university education/certification: Professional Writing, English, Communications, Technical Writing, Multimedia Development and/or related fields
At least five (5) years’ experience delivering results in drafting UX/digital content and/or content strategy, writing and editing customer-facing content in a variety of formats, primarily for the digital space.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MA/MSor equivalentin experience and non-university education/certification: Professional Writing, English, Communications, Technical Writing, Multimedia Development and/or related fields
Proficient use of the Adobe Suite, especially InDesign, but also Illustrator
Capability with coding for websites/UX
UX Interviewing/Research experience
