About the Opportunity
This position will work closely with the Senior Content Marketing Manager, as well as the Marketing, Merchandising, and E-Commerce departments, collaborating with cross-functional subject matter experts and vendor partners to create, improve, and maintain content that achieves business goals, raising brand awareness and relevancy in the digital and social media space. The Content Marketing Manager will assist the Senior Manager in planning, researching, producing, and publishing engaging and educational customer-centric content, working closely with all marketing channels to drive key brand initiatives and promote a user-friendly experience that frames our brand(s) as the go-to resource for pool and spa information and supplies. This person will also assist the E-commerce team with various website content and search optimization needs, ensuring brand consistency and an exceptional user experience across all company properties.
The individual must display strong written and oral communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Contributes to the development and execution of content marketing plans and editorial strategies, with an emphasis on research regarding the audience and their search intent, as well as the desire to produce content that meets or exceeds their needs and expectations.
Assist with content production and ongoing content iterations and improvements, and continually evaluate efforts to improve the impact of blog and other digital content.
Helps with content strategy work, including copyediting, copywriting, content audits, content plans, governance plans, style guides, etc. for web/digital information, including web pages, blog posts, multimedia, social media, digital advertisements, email, and physical print content, as necessary.
Aligns content solutions cross-functionally with a focus on the residential pool customer, while considering other outside influences and seasonality (i.e., weather trends, pop culture, trending topics, brand initiatives, etc.)
Interprets and translates technical industry information and components into language that is easily understood by customers with varying degrees of pool care knowledge.
Works closely with creative designers, content managers, merchandising managers, and Leslie’s other brand portfolio managers to ensure existing and future content meets or exceeds required standards.
Analyzes the success of content-based marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
Serves as a subject matter expert in content strategy, assists organization in understanding the discipline.
Assists social media practice in content planning and strategy for Leslie’s brand(s).
Evolves best practices for content strategy and stays informed on the discipline.
Works with E-commerce to act on site data trends and user behavior, using Google Analytics to find new ways to increase conversion, brand awareness, and ROI.
Review and continuously improve how we test and measure web content, driving improved conversion rates.
Navigate priorities with a coherent plan, producing demonstrable results in a timely manner.
You are a metrics-focused, results-driven content marketer with strong communication, storytelling, and execution skills. You have an understanding of evolving marketing trends and best practices. Experience working with omnichannel brands is preferred, but not required. You are analytical with a natural curiosity to test, measure, and iterate in order to drive results. You are organized with strong project management skills, and are a natural cultural contributor with a high level of autonomy.
A minimum of 2-3 years working in any writing, content management, or marketing position
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or relevant field of study
Previous experience in writing (e.g., copyediting, copywriting, PR, marketing communications, creative writing, journalism, etc.)
Experience with interactive marketing (e.g., SEO, PPC, email marketing, social media, etc.) preferred, but not required
Understanding of design, and an aptitude for user experience
Must possess strong writing and editing skills, and understand appropriate grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules
Basic understanding of SEO strategy, especially as it applies to content.
Experience with Google Analytics preferred, but not required
Experience using Content Management Systems (Amplience, WordPress, Salesforce, etc.)
Proficient in the use of a PC or Mac; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
