ROLE of the POSITION
Reporting to the Marketing Manager in the Division of Integrated Marketing & Branding, the Content Marketing Specialist produces a variety of materials across print and digital platforms to market new and existing academic degree programs. This position works closely with the division’s web, social, and brand content teams and in collaboration with UNLV’sadmissions teams, degree program managers, and unit communicators to engage prospective students, leading to increased enrollment in academic programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, English, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university and 1-3 year of experience creating and editing content from various media. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge:
Expert knowledge of English grammar and principals of marketing, copywriting, AP Style, and proofreading
Understanding of traditional and digital marketing methods (digital and print advertising, SEO, paid/organic social media)
Knowledge of graphic identity systems and principals of good design
Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop) web CMS, Google analytics, and other marketing-related software and tools
Skills:
Excellent research, interviewing, and writing skills to produce content in a variety of styles and platforms for diverse audiences
Highly organized with ability to set and track deadlines, budgets, and other constraints
Abilities:
Identify, suggest, develop and/or contribute, and execute marketing campaigns
Adapt content for brand messaging and voice, audience, and platform
Work efficiently under deadline pressure, forecast potential setbacks, and develop solutions
Be highly flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities and circumstances, organizational delays, and political sensitives
Foster collaboration and conduct interpersonal relationships with professional demeanor
Show a commitment to UNLV’s mission and efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with higher education marketing and communications and certifications or professional development in digital marketing and content marketing.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of CRM and email marketing processes
Knowledge of marketing technology
Knowledge of digital asset management tools
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
