Leveraging our construction tech expertise and deep industry experience, our team is working on scaling construction technology to lower building costs, help decarbonize the built environment, and help our clients and partners achieve their development objectives for less time and cost.

Who we’re looking for:
Green Canopy NODE is seeking a Content Writer who can help translate the multi-faceted efforts of our company into compelling stories, campaigns, and messaging that resonates with our target audiences.

In this position, you will collaborate with our Green Canopy NODE team to develop, write, and edit content; drive growth in our development services channel through the content you create; and help scale our mission-driven company. The Content Writer will play an important role in maintaining and expressing the authenticity of our brand; will continue to position our team as leaders in changing the paradigm of construction; and will help drive our company’s growth through content that engages and inspires those we seek to reach – from potential clients, to developers, and investors.

Preference will be given to those with:

Knowledge of sustainability, real estate development, green building, and/or mass timber
A writing portfolio that includes relevant materials such as case studies, press releases, blogs/articles, and social impact and sustainability reports
Excellent interpersonal skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
High detail orientation, clear and methodical mindset
Ability to set realistic timelines and deliver against them
Ability to create clear, clean and impactful written content often against tight deadlines

Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:
Required:

Equivalent prior work experience or college degree in communications, journalism, sales or related field
Minimum 2 years of professional writing

Preferred

Proficiency in Google Analytics and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with HubSpot CRM and marketing suite or similar CRM platform; content automation and workflows
An understanding of SEO best practices and content analytics, such as Google Analytics

In this position you will:

Align to the content marketing strategy and corporate goals
Conduct competitor and target audience analyses
Research topics relevant to specified target audience(s) and industry(s), potentially including conference and award submissions
Collaborate with Marketing team to maintain the editorial calendar
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify content themes, interview Subject Matter Experts, and develop content that advances our mission and meets our corporate goals. Content will include (but not be limited to): case studies, press releases, white papers, targeted email campaigns, blogs, etc.
Create, write, and edit high-quality, relevant, and engaging content
Publish and promote content and campaigns across a variety of channels including email marketing, blog, social media, website, and email newsletter
Help create content for our Annual Impact Report
Generate new ideas and approaches to create engaging content
Stay informed of and identify trends in sustainable, healthy, affordable housing; mass timber; construction tech; and the real estate and construction industry at large
Manage timelines and coordinate with team members to ensure deliverables are met
Utilize best practices for effective target keyword placement to optimize all content for shareability and SEO
Conduct keyword research and use SEO guidelines to drive engagement and increase web traffic
Analyze and report on content analytics and metrics, including inbound traffic and conversions
Implement a strategy for earned media – through a combination of compelling content, engaging with media (local, national, industry, print, television, radio, and online/hybrid)
Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to manage third-party content production vendors and agencies, including audio production, videographers, editors, copywriters, etc.

Position and hours:

This is an exempt, full-time position, typically working Monday through Friday. Some hours outside of normal business hours will be required at times in order to meet deadlines.
This position may require travel in the Seattle area to attend in-person meetings and attend special events.
This position may require on occasional visit to our Portland area to attend in-person meetings and attend special events.
Office-related work for this position will be performed remotely until the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. Returning to work in an office environment will be at the Company’s discretion.

Compensation and benefits:

Salary range between $70,000-$95,000 annually
