Reporting to the Communications Manager/Account Manager, the Content Writer is a key member of UF Online Marketing and Strategic Communications team housed within the Operations Hub, a collaborative, cross-functioning unit comprised of Finance, Data & Analytics, Strategic Partnerships and Marketing & Strategic Communications. The Content Writer will work individually and collaboratively with members of the UF Online team to create content that tells the story of UF Online for a wide array of audiences. The Content Writer position requires a range of writing skills that will be leveraged to produce student stories, marketing collateral, longform thought leadership, and more.
Prepares and manages a diverse range of writing and editing projects, including blogs, whitepapers, emails, landing pages, and annual reports. Prepares, edits, and reviews works in various formats for publication. Plans project arrangements or outlines and organizes material accordingly with both internal UF Online teams and external marketing vendor(s). Represents the UF Online brand across print and digital media.
Leads the creation of compelling student, faculty, and staff stories. Conducts interviews and collects information from various sources and prepares into written format that is reflective of the UF Online brand and tone. Communicates with appropriate parties ahead of content publication, to build and maintain excellent rapport with key stakeholders. In collaboration with Communication & Marketing Managers, develops plans for content release to ensure a smooth process and enhance visibility of communications efforts.
Conducts organic research to inform content development. Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop marketing content with a compelling, consistent, and cohesive voice.
Implements best practices to drive web traffic. Identifies and recommends improvements to enhance web presence for UF Online.
Conducts market audits and determines areas of opportunity for new content.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
$45,000 – $50,000
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience.
Proficiency with MS Office applications (especially Word and PowerPoint)
Attention to detail
Experience with social media planning and strategy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
The motivation to maintain and improve brand standards
