*Position Title: *Content WriterEmployment Type: Independent ContractorLocation: RemoteReports To: Executive Director of Project Implementation or Model Fidelity Coach for Assessment
*Role Expectations*The content writer develops and authors item bank content for designated content areas and grade levels.
*Role Requirements*

Education: Bachelor’s degree in education or directly related field
Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience with curriculum alignment and assessment development
License/Certification: holds/has held in the last five years an educator’s license in one of the following areas: K-12 English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies
Background Check: Demonstration of a clear state and federal criminal history

Role Responsibilities

Create standards-based assessment items within the parameters of assigned content area(s)/ grade level(s)
Organize writing schedules to complete drafts of item bank items within assigned timelines
Tag existing items with the respective state standards as assigned
Create assessment items that include varied item types
Analyze, review and revise existing items
Collaborate with peers and supervisors as assigned

Required Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of analyzing curriculum standards
Thorough knowledge of assessment of school-aged students
Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision
Thorough knowledge Google Workspace and Zoom
Prior experience authoring curriculum and/or assessment items
Excellent listening, observation, reading, verbal, nonverbal, and writing skills
Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Superior time-management, organizational skills, and accurate record keeping
Uphold policies and follows guidelines and procedures
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of current Georgia, Ohio and/or Florida curriculum standards
Experience with aligning assessment items to standards
Experience creating items aligned to standards
