Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Cybersecurity Lead – R&D MedTech located in Raritan, NJ or Irvine, CA. Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company. This may require up to 10% travel.

The Cybersecurity Lead is part of the Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) organization supporting the Medical Technologies sector. You will be part of a multifaceted technical team with autonomous mentality, forward-looking and delivery demeanor. In this role the individual is responsible to identify and help mitigate cyber security risks to support the secure development and implementation of new and innovative applications and systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Consult and Collaborate with Business and IT partners to provide security and risk management advice in the design, implementation and testing of cloud environments, commercial applications, digital services
Lead and perform assessments, design reviews, and provide assurance over existing and future solutions and environments, prioritizing risks, and provide guidance on remediation
Review third party vendor business solutions with a risk-based approach to ensure data protection and elevate security posture
Collect, analyze, and publish security risk reports for IT leaders in ISRM and R&D


A Bachelor’s degree required; a major in Cybersecurity or Computer Science is highly preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in IT and/or technical cybersecurity
Experience in leading/performing security assessments and providing security assurance across various levels of the enterprise architecture (data, application, host, middleware, network, Infrastructure)
Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, Salesforce)
Good understanding of current security threats, mitigation measures and security vendors/technologies
Awareness of security trends in process, tooling, and threats
Experience with security standards (e.g., ISO27001, HITRUST, NIST, etc.) and performing security audits and assessments
Exposure to data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau etc.
Big picture perspective and attention to detail focus, to align strategic and tactical security aspects
Above par communication skills, able to network and influence management of the organization, cross sector, cross-function and global


Demonstrable understanding of security for R&D labs, instrumentation, and clinical trial data.
Exposure to and a solid grasp of security coding and development practices.
Experience leading and influencing security audits (e.g., SOC Type 2 reporting, PCI, ISO 27001)
Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CISA)

The base pay range for this position is $88,000 to $123,500 USD. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
