Position SummaryThe Director of Clinical Analytics will be responsible for developing a strategy and managing clinical analytics as an integral part of our overall analytics, methodology, product and consulting efforts. The strategy includes ensuring alignment to business defined roadmaps in conjunction with the overall business, clinical, and technology strategy that is aligned to the overall goals of BHI. In addition, the strategy needs to encompass leveraging strategic sourcing to ensure the department can easily flex priorities as business needs dictate.The Director, is responsible for leading a team of managers, clinical analysts including experienced health professionals and specialists and as such is responsible for not only the deliverables but also communication, morale and financial management of the group. The Director will focus on outcomes tied to business results from delivery around service levels and high-quality deliverables as well as how well the team services the needs of the rest of the company.Job Responsibilities

Develop strategic planning for and direction and control of all clinical analytics activities.
Lead and manage a team who are responsible for delivery of the portfolio according to the strategic plan and product roadmaps.
Manage and develop team members to their highest potential performance level. Provide regular and ongoing coaching around annual goals and priorities as well as routine and unique business requirements.
Provide leadership for all internal resources to meet BHI Business objectives. Act as primary liaison to selected BHI Partner organizations responsible for BHI support. Develop and maintain strong, positive service relationships with the participating Plans, Blue Programs, External vendors/ partners and BCBSA.
Provide senior clinical analytics input to all aspects of analytics, methodology, development and product.
Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, for all products.
Ensure the optimal application of technology and development resources to meet product development and/or customer requirements, per the product requirements.
Ensure that the product suite is fully and correctly defined and documented.
Hire and direct staff of senior group members to acquire necessary resources and plan to meet scheduled commitments.
Ensure implementation of formal processes to support the product development process;
Manage strategic partnerships with vendors.
Ensure product initiatives align to the strategic architecture of BHI Analytics while still meeting business needs.
Participate and provide strategic leadership in product steering committees.
Collaborate with other executives to determine corporate budget, schedules and deadlines, and ensure they are met.
Drafts project justification documents, including capital expenditure requests at the department, company and/or corporate level and present proposals to peers and other executives.
Continually evaluates the organizational structure and current technology as a means to enhance productivity and implement changes.
Manage multiple and competing priorities and resources between teams.

Job Requirements

Clinical degree preferably in medicine or nursing
Minimum 8 years’ experience in the health care industry with extensive knowledge of health services research, analytics, health insurance/managed health care programs, products, and services, preferably in medical and/or pharmacy claims data analysis.
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience required.
Minimum of 5 years of healthcare data analytics experience preferred.
Possess excellent mentoring, leadership, time management and project management skills;
Experience building, implementing, and/or refining a software development lifecycle.
Capable of taking on high-level tasks for significant projects with very limited guidance and see them to completion.
Proven track record of successful delivery of a multiple product portfolio.
Ability to solve complex and analytical problems independently, finding multiple solutions.
Ability to anticipate problems and issues, and effectively resolve them.
Ability to identify and realize long-term goals.
Understand the use of technology and how its implementation affects strategic business goals.
Excellent verbal and written and communication skills with less-experienced staff, peers, executives and internal or external customers.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities and resources effectively.
Proficient at presenting information in a formal manner to clients and employees.
Is familiar with SOC 2 compliance and its impact on company policies and processes.
Understands importance of adhering to SOC 2 requirements, and maintains an effort to do so.
Reviews and understands the Employee Handbook, and internal policies that define individual security responsibilities, and maintains segregation of duties in accordance to their role requirements.
