DIRECTOR, DIGITAL AND CONTENT STRATEGY
Position reports to: IRI Managing Director
This position typically does not have a regular or set work schedule, and work hours vary significantly and are dependent on the nature and timing of client project assigned by IRI
Day, evening and weekend work, including project work and travel, is required as needed
Domestic travel is required as needed
As outlined in this document, the job requirements pertain to both IRI employed consultants and contractors who perform work on behalf of IRI.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of the Director, Digital and Content Strategy is to develop a high-level strategy that identifies the right content for the right user at the right time across paid, earned, shared, and owned channels that meet the client’s goals and objectives. This role will work with client project teams for the creation and delivery of useful, usable content for stakeholders and audiences.
The Director, Digital and Content Strategy is expected to become knowledgeable about all IRI products and services and to offer ideas and solutions to clients as part of a total integrated approach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop digital strategy and implement roadmaps that ensure the achievement of client goals.
Oversee content requirements and create content strategy deliverables across a project life cycle.
Select and manage relevant communications campaign management tools, technologies, and applications.
Manage vendors and collaborate with client and IRI designers, developers, community managers, and other team members on integrated projects.
Manage and track digital projects (e.g., website builds, social media campaigns, paid media campaigns) to ensure they remain on track and on budget.
Execute and manage a variety of digital advertising campaigns and budgets (social, search/display, programmatic, and direct media buys) simultaneously.
Work with the project team to ensure our services evolve. Participate in discussions and develop ideas the ensure service offerings, processes, practices, documentation, recommendations, and solutions around digital strategy and provide the maximum value to our clients.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Business / Communications / Marketing or related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience designing communication strategies and content campaigns.
Prior experience taking a strategic perspective and drilling down into user and functional requirements, as well as solid knowledge of content management systems.
Deep knowledge of contemporary digital media and engagement programs.
Impeccable writing skills and ownership of major deliverables, including strategy memos and decks.
Expert understanding of digital channel strategy.
Familiarity with analytics, including the use of data to shape strategic decisions, the establishment of objectives and KPIs’ and the development of testing and optimization strategy.
Strong passion for delivering business success for clients, working within, and supporting, and cross-functional team.
Ability to produce strong content under tight deadlines.
Ability to interact across all levels of management within an organization.
Proficiency using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Excel
Ability to use additional computer products:
HTML and basic CSS preferred
Adobe Creative Suite
Video conferencing (Teams, Zoom, other)
ShareFile (file-sharing software)
Note: The ability to learn additional software and programs is required. Over time the products listed above may be replaced or supplemented with other products.
Must maintain complete confidentiality on all client matters at all times.
Must be able to work independently at client sites, using independent judgment, and also be able to work cooperatively in a team environment, often in a virtual/remote format.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
A high degree of agility and adaptability to changing conditions and client demands.
Organizationally savvy to maneuver successfully through complex dynamics across diverse channels of business.
Experience and comfort working in a virtual or remote environment, including limited interaction with co-workers.

Consultants must also be able to travel, both on airplanes and ground transportation as needed, to get to and from client sites.
