Mackin is looking for an experienced sales leader for a General Manager role for our client in Boston, MA. The client is one of the most successful global consumer brands ever developed in Ireland. They are the global leader in their industry and they are looking for the right person to help lead their efforts in North America. This is a direct hire position with the company. The person must be currently living or willing to relocate to Boston, MA.
As a key member of the management team, the GM will be a senior leader within the organization responsible for managing a X-functional Strategic Accounts Team comprised of 8-10 people. Duties include optimizing profitable revenue growth, client engagement and satisfaction, forecast management, budgeting, and expense management.
The GM role offers an ambitious sales executive a unique career opportunity to play a central role in the transformational growth of a premium quality, globally established consumer brand in the next 5 years.
The role will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and be based in Boston, MA.
Primary Responsibility:

Recruit, develop and manage senior-level talent across sales, marketing and operations.
Support the GTM process through direct engagement with identified strategic & key account senior management team.
The role should be constantly striving to improve processes, think outside the box and find better ways to build the business.
The GM of NAM will be responsible for co-developing Seasonal, Annual and 3 Year Strategic Account Plans with identified Key Account Group.
Key measures of success include meeting or exceeding targets for sales revenue, sales profit, budgetary objectives, and improving client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience of managing a fully integrated Go-To-Market process that adheres to internal and external deadlines and market dynamics.
Evidence of a proven track record (minimum of 5 years, including at least 5 at senior manager/director level and with P&L responsibility) of successfully managing sales functions, for international, omni-channel consumer product/lifestyle/luxury goods brands. Sports/Equestrian sector experience is a bonus.
Extensive experience of all routes to market via B2B (retail trade customers) and and B2C (to include marketplaces such as Amazon). Ideally, will have created and delivered new channels/routes to market, in a high-growth, international consumer products business.
Proven technical and data-analytics skills and understanding of best in class process platforms for delivering superior sales performance.
A natural and supportive team leader with the ability to recruit, retain and inspire colleagues to achieve challenging personal and group KPI’s, in a positive working environment.
Committed to collaborating effectively with senior leadership colleagues, to achieve broader business objectives.
Superior communication skills including the gravitas to inspire confidence, influence and build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

A prudent financial manager with ability to effectively manage budgets.

Experience:
