This position calls for a creative and dedicated individual. The Graphic Designer position is responsible for collaborating with the Senior Graphic Designer to create effective and eye-catching concepts, graphics, and campaigns for property design projects including posters, direct mail, print ads, website, email, mobile app, etc. The position will work directly with vendors to see production process through to completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:Collaborate with design team on project concepts, studying information and materials.Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials from key resources.Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces.Develop product illustrations, logos, and other graphics as needed.Advise on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects.Proficient in design software (i.e., InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).Must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design, styles, and layout techniques.Maintains brand consistency throughout all our marketing projects.Ability to handle heavy daily and weekly workload of promotional on-floor promotional signage & collateral design including digital signage, online creative, brochures, flyers, coupons, interior and exterior signage, posters, duratrans (backlit posters) and multi-media presentations.Assists in maintaining positive working relationships with vendors.Delivers high quality work, especially on tight deadlines.Works closely with Database department to design monthly direct mail pieces and upload to print vendor to ensure timely delivery to Guests.Design newspaper and magazine ads, as needed.Develop and maintain awareness of mechanical and other job specifications for various communication mediums (e.g., various types of signage, coupons, etc.).Work with external vendors producing all print and collateral.Maintain and catalog all photography and completed jobs in an electronic format.Design other internal and external communications projects as requested by Advertising and Marketing Management.Order graphic supplies as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Proven expertise and proficiency in PC Windows software platform design layout programs:Adobe Creative Suite 6: Illustrator, Photoshop, Dream Weaver, Flash, and InDesign for graphic & digital design, and print production.Typography in design: knowledge of appropriate typeface/font styles for designing effective advertising communications.Technical degree from accredited school for Graphic Design for the Computer Arts, or college degree from an accredited four-year university with major emphasis in Graphic Design.Or a minimum of three (3) years’ experience designing advertising/marketing collateral, again utilizing the PC Windows software platform design layout programs: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Dream Weaver, Illustrator, Flash, and InDesign for graphic & digital design, and print production.Or a combination of one (1) year of education in Graphic Design and two (2) years proven experience in designing diverse advertising/marketing collateral.Or successful completion of a related company approved development placement program.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONSExperience in photography direction, video art direction preferred.Pre-press knowledge of printing and production techniques for large format (posters, duratrans, etc.) small format (brochures, flyers, etc.) and direct mail print preferred.Proof of Portfolio of work absolutely required.Experience to include three (3) years casino gaming or entertainment related experience with comparable revenue generation to Grand Casino Mille Lacs / Hinckley.Ability to perform well under changing priorities and tight deadlines.Strong organizational, time management and communications skills.Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
