La-Z-Boy is looking for individuals who have a talent and passion for interior design. If you are an individual who is driven to create beautiful home environments that represent the client’s lifestyle, fashion, and taste, we are looking for you!
This is a Designer in Training for Austin area
****Income is between $55,000 to $85,000+
BASIC FUNCTION:
Designing and creating comfortable and functional environments that represent a client’s lifestyle, taste and budget. Be a professional Design Consultant through the use of the La-Z-Boy In-Home Design program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In-Home Design
Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs, including sample fabrics, furniture, tables and accessory recommendations as well as the benefits of a professional installation service
Execute and champion the In-Home Design process per company guidelines
Accurately complete order information, collect deposits and fees, keep orderly customer records, and stay involved through delivery
Support design related functions in the store and maintain an up to date customized portfolio including before and after pictures of previous In-Home design projects.
Drive Sales
Consistently achieve established In-Home program sales goals
Team with the Store Manager, Sales Managers and Associates to promote the In-Home Design program and drive overall store sales
Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs
Maintain strong knowledge of features and benefits of existing and new product lines
People Development
Assist with training, coaching and developing Sales Associates, Interior Designers and other store staff
Maintain a positive working relationship with all store associates
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Prefer Bachelor degree in Interior Design with one (1) to two (2) years experience or a minimum of five (5) years design experience in a comparable home furnishings role
CIDA accreditation and/or ASID membership preferred
Previous selling experience strongly preferred
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
CAD training a plus
Experience in using floor and space planning applications
Knowledgeable of general principles of home décor and design (i.e., furniture, carpet, draperies, and color schemes)
Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and build rapport
Ability to effectively manage time and conflicting priorities
Ability to work effectively and productively with others as a team
Ability to work the schedule and hours dictated by business needs
Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
Initiative to meet assigned goals, missions and objectives
Strong attention to detail
