Pay Range: $21.45 – 26.59 hourly
Job Description: Your Piece of the Puzzle
Do you like taking the initiative? As NFM’s Lead Collection Representative you will coach, train and support collection staff. You will handle complex collection issues and problems.
Job Duties: A Day in the Life
Analyze: Identify high risk/exception accounts and immediately follow up with collection action
Propose: Recommend file placement to outside attorneys or collection agencies if collection attempts are unsuccessful. As necessary, skip trace past due customers, update credit reports if appropriate, call other creditors, etc
Develop: Negotiate payment terms with customers – Negotiate settlements with customers in conjunction with the Collections manager
Provide: Assist in resolution of escalated issues for customers
Collaborate: Work with management to maintain departmental policies, procedures, training materials, communications, etc
Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?
High School Diploma or GED preferred
4 years of credit and collections experience in retail or corporate setting
6 months lead of supervisory experience
Knowledge of federal and state consumer credit and collection laws
Ongoing, acceptable credit
Computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office Applications
Bilingual skills – Spanish preferred
Ability to enter data quickly and accurately
Valid driver’s license and ongoing acceptable driving record
Ability to work nights, weekends and/or early morning hours based on business needs
Pre-employment screening includes, but isn’t limited to, drug screen and criminal background check
