The Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources (RSENR) at the University of Vermont (UVM) welcomes applicants for a full-time, 9-month, Lecturer position in Geospatial Technologies and Environmental Science. RSENR is a cross-disciplinary school, with 5 major programs and 4 minors and over 800 current undergraduate students. The Environmental Science major is a rapidly growing program, with over 400 students from the UVM campus. The Geospatial Technologies (GST) Minor includes over 150 students from across the UVM campus, with additional offerings available to non-degree GST Certificate students. These programs provide an applied course of study, where students learn critical professional skills and disciplinary methodologies to help tackle complex environmental problems.
We seek a dedicated and inspiring new faculty member with a terminal degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Physcial Geography or related field. Successful applicants will have demonstrated excellence in student-centered instruction, providing technical support and mentoring opportunities for students, experience using geospatial techniques for a variety of environmental science applications (e.g. global monitoring and assessment, climate change impacts, natural resources planning), and a track record of centering equity and inclusion in their professional actities.

This position is an exciting opportunity to train the next generation of environmental leaders as part of a community focused on providing a high-quality, student centered, applied course of study where students learn critical professional skills and disciplinary methodologies to help tackle complex environmental problems. Instructional assignments may include: Global Monitoring and Assessment, Introduction to GIS, Introduction to Remote Sensing, as well as advanced courses in applied, environmental modeling.
