Position Description
This position is part of a Program Management Office (PMO) team. The PMO oversees an enterprise financial and procurement system. The government has contracted with us to provide two individuals to support the two government program managers responsible for the program. This system is used to procure, oversee, and pay for healthcare for members of the military, their families, and retirees.
The government has contracted with an information technology contractor to provide the support staff for the program. This contractor’s staff is co-located with our PMO staff at a government facility in Aurora Colorado.
Our responsibilities include developing budgets, tracking budgets, and tracking project plans. We are responsible for creating the annual budget along with the required documentation. We are also responsible for initiating and tracking software/maintenance purchases. This includes creating an annual purchase plan, initiating purchases, performing market research, developing required purchase documentation, and reviewing quotes provided by vendors. This position is responsible for assessing the performance of the prime contractor that is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upgrade of the system We provide program management support services, studies and analysis, and business process improvement. We determine and prioritize program and systems requirements through liaison with user community. We coordinate and lead different user groups that each focus on a specific functional area of the overall system. We oversee and coordinate the change processes used for approval to the system baseline.
Important Skills
Communication Skills – This position requires creating written communications such as email, analyses, and government documentation. The applicant must be very comfortable creating professional documentation and communication.
Highly proficient with a Windows workstation – This position requires the extensive use of Windows based workstations. The applicant must be proficient using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. The applicant must be able to comfortable using these applications independently without further training. No administrative support is provided for this position.
Broad Understanding of Technology – This position works daily with the technical individuals that run the system including data base administrators, software developers, system administrators, and cybersecurity experts. The applicant must be able to communicate and understand the essence of the different technical disciplines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $160,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
