About the role:

Datacamp is looking for an experienced SEO Editor to join its SEO team. Reporting to the Director of SEO, the SEO Editor would work closely with the Media team and hold responsibility for ensuring that all commissioned, written content follows SEO best practices and capitalizes on the ranking opportunities within the theme. This role will also contribute to the SEO content strategy and maintaining alignment between different content calendars and the overall SEO strategy.

Responsibilities:

Reviewing data science articles, tutorials, cheat sheet formatting, and other resources to ensure strong SEO, good spelling and grammar, and consistent tone of voice.
Completing research and contributing to the content pipeline to ensure that we maintain and grow strong rankings across our portfolio areas.
Analyzing the performance of content and using that information to inform future content or to improve underperforming pieces.
Working closely with the media team and SEO team to align on overall SEO strategy and ensure strong content coverage.
Completing competitor research to find areas where we can take rankings and grow organic traffic.
The Ideal Candidate:

Strong SEO skills and an understanding of what will make a piece of content rank in each vertical.
Proven experience growing organic traffic to blogs and tutorials.
A keen eye for detail and ability to write and edit at speed without sacrificing quality.
A portfolio demonstrating relevant writing samples that rank well, ideally within the education, data science, or tech areas.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Proven ability to manage a workload with shifting priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
Experience training others in SEO best practices and evangelizing for SEO within a business.
Knowledge of how to maintain a strong, varied content pipeline and seeing that work through to implementation and reporting on its impact.
