SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESThe Marketing Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Marketing to support the organization’s marketing communications, public relations, and graphic design efforts in a fast-paced, collaborative atmosphere. The Marketing Manager will create and produce creative and quality content to be delivered across the organization’s marketing channels (print, social media, email marketing, and website), and ensures brand standards areas are maintained. The Marketing Manager is the primary in-house graphic designer and is responsible for tracking deliverable timelines and ensuring deadlines are met for marketing projects across Garden divisions. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and supervises one Digital Content Specialist and a seasonal intern.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

Excellent research skills and strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Copywriting and editing; strong knowledge of AP style.
Advanced graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.).
Proficiency with technology, publishing software (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite), social media and video editing tools, email marketing systems (Constant Contact), website content management systems (WordPress, basic HTML, and basic CSS), and project management and team collaboration systems (Asana).
Must possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a high degree of professionalism.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Solid customer service skills with the proven ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines and accomplish a variety of long- and short-term goals.
Experience supervising and managing a team of at least 2 employees.
Other core competencies expected: initiative, ability to easily grasp new skills, autonomous work, attention to detail, creativity, collaborative, oral/written communication, achieving measurable results, decision-making, flexibility, respect, and perseverance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, public relations, or related field* (_**required)_*
Minimum of 3 – 5 years of related experience in graphic design, digital communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably in the nonprofit and/or cultural sector (required)
Graphic design experience with 2 – 3 years of experience using Adobe Creative Cloud Design Programs (required)
Strong digital graphic design portfolio (required)
Flexible working hours, including occasional evening and weekend availability (required)
Spanish language proficiency (preferred)

TASKS/FUNCTIONS

Supervises the Digital Content Specialist to direct and review marketing content strategies for the organization’s digital channels (websites, email marketing, social media, digital signage).
Designs and creates marketing and promotional materials including but not limited to brochures, flyers, posters, web banners, invitations, and email graphics.
Manages the production of internal/external print and digital marketing materials.
Writes clear, compelling content for Garden events, programs, and exhibition promotions.
Manages marketing project intake, content timelines, and review/proofing schedules.
Responsible for managing professional photographers, videographers, printers, and other vendors.
Monitors online reviews, comments, and messages and responds to each in a timely manner and with care.
Supports the development and execution of membership and fundraising/giving campaigns.
Assists the Director of Marketing with tracking and analyzing marketing channel performances.
Assists the Director of Marketing with coordination of onsite commercial filming and photography requests.
Conducts research and recommends new platforms and strategies that best deliver key priorities and messages based on audiences.
Manages daily administrative tasks to ensure the marketing department runs smoothly.

Assists and performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS The physical demands and characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those occurring in the performance of the essential functions of this job. The employee occasionally may lift and move up to 40 pounds.
Although the position is primarily located indoors, the ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions is expected. Expected to perform with minimum supervision and act independently within the scope of normal duties and responsibilities. On occasion, required to work extended hours including weekends and evenings in an outdoor setting. Minimal travel may be required.

Pay: $43,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
