The new Open Source Community and Evangelism team within Intel’s Software and Advanced Technology Group (SATG) is looking for a person to lead strategy and execution for open source-related content at Intel. The successful applicant will create, own, grow, and manage communications channels for open source at Intel, including a website (open.intel.com), blog(s), social media, video, and other media as appropriate. This role will also help with internal communications (wiki, internal emails), and may also help with content on GitHub project pages. They will own our open source content strategy and channels, working closely with our open ecosystem partners and communities as well as internal stakeholders. This person will play a key role in the success of open source communities by becoming a trusted source of content useful to those communities. In this role you will:

Develop and manage into production an ambitious editorial calendar of content, actively sourced from internal and external stakeholders and communities, across a variety of media and platforms, working with other Intel teams for production, publication, and promotion.
Own and manage open.intel.com as our primary public-facing channel.
Manage syndication and promotion of open source content, as appropriate for the subject matter and communities.
Actively recruit, nurture, and support authors/content creators to develop compelling, technically interesting material.
Manage the social media tools and calendar, including content contributions from across the company.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Build a strong network with Business Unit, Sales and Marketing partners and the Strategy to Execution team (of which you’ll be part), as well as the teams that will help you get content into production and then promote it.
Develop, execute, and continuously refine the open source content strategy, in consultation with stakeholders from across the company and open source communities.
Establish simple and efficient processes to move content through the pipeline to production, as painlessly as possible for contributors.
Track and report metrics on all content.

An ideal candidate would exhibit behavioral skills that indicate:

Understanding of the open source ethos and community, and how communicating with it is different from traditional marketing.
Strong verbal/written communication skills. Experience with other media such as video and podcasts a plus.
The ability to help content creators distill complex technical ideas into easy-to-grasp concepts that can be communicated quickly and effectively, as appropriate for the intended audience.
Working understanding of the tools of the trade such as Sprinklr, content management systems, web analytics platforms, etc., with willingness and ability to learn what’s needed to do the job.
Ability to get hands on when needed, especially with writing and editing.
Ability to work with external agencies as needed, eg to produce videos and podcasts.
Experienced at working across organizational boundaries, geographies and with people from different cultural backgrounds.
Comfortable with asynchronous communication, which includes documenting what you do and learn for your teammates and the wider organization – you will be part of a globally-dispersed team, and it won’t always be easy to communicate face-to-face (even virtually).
