Background
ICHOM is a non-profit organization committed to transforming health care to a value-based system through universal measurement and reporting of patient outcomes. ICHOM was co-founded in November 2012, by leaders from Harvard Business School, the Boston Consulting Group, and the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden.
One of ICHOM’s primary activities is the development of global Sets of Patient-centred outcome measures by medical condition or population. ICHOM Sets are the most essential outcomes that all providers should collect, along with an essential set of baseline patient characteristics for risk adjustment. To develop these standards, ICHOM brings together Working Groups composed of clinical leaders, registry leaders, and patients and leads them through a structured, consensus-driven process. ICHOM also supports organisations to implement and measure our global standards of outcomes that truly matter to patients by medical condition.
We believe measurement and reporting of ICHOM Sets will:

Help patients better choose the right treatments and providers for their needs
Enable providers to benchmark and compare how well they are meeting the needs of their patients compared to their peers
Allow payors to contract on the value of care delivered, not simply volume

It is clear that value-based health care (VBHC) will significantly influence practice in every part of the industry – including the life sciences sector (pharmaceuticals and medical technology). ICHOM engages with life sciences thought leaders to help guide this shift towards patient-centred outcomes and value. ICHOM also develops case studies and articles on the implementation of outcomes measurement and application of VBHC in different parts of the world. The dissemination of this critical knowledge is crucial to supporting the health care industry through this shift towards value.

Duties include:

Be the knowledge leader in ICHOM for all aspects of the Sets (creations, deployment etc) leading on dealing with external parties, maintaining relationships, support sales, answering day to day questions
You will lead a team responsible for –

❖ The development and maintenance of sets including the harmonized term bank
❖ Preparation of Sets to join benchmarking platform
❖ Management of expert groups relating to the review of existing Sets
❖ Management of ICHOM’s Central Expert Panel advisory group
❖ Delivery of ICHOMs contribution to IMI Grants

Overseeing the creation of materials and playbook for the development of a model for training and certifying the ICHOM process for Set creation
Contributing to enterprise-wide activities, including the improvement of Sets, methodology, and maintenance of existing Standard Sets
Overseeing communication plans, publications and reports by working group members to announce the publication and revision of Sets
Running community teleconferences in order to facilitate the adoption and implementation of our Sets of outcomes and methodology
Recruiting and managing relationships with international experts and patient advocacy representatives
Producing and delivering presentations and running meetings
Contributing to the sale of new sets and outcome research projects

Qualifications and work experience

At least 3 years professional experience, including:

o Experience working in health care delivery or health care change management/system transformation/outcomes measurement/quality improvement/data science
o Experience in business development
o Experience with project management
o Experience of writing and publishing articles, case studies and/or reports

Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience, including line-management responsibilities
MSc in relevant a field is essential
Qualification as a Medical Doctor or a PhD highly desirable

Additional characteristics

A strong passion for improving healthcare delivery is essential
Fluency in English as a primary written and spoken language is essential
The successful candidate is one who has strong critical analytic skills; is highly organized, self-driven and able to work well under time pressure; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders including senior executives and academics
Willingness to travel (occasional travel)
Strong computing and multi-media skills.

Position can be based in either London, UK or Boston, USA (right to work in either UK or USA is required
