Central Transport LLC. is currently seeking a Regional Employee Relations Manager to be domiciled in Providence, RI. The position will be responsible for the Employee Relations Management of the Mid East region. We are looking for an experienced Management professional with strong communication skills and transportation knowledge. The ideal candidate should possess:
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
3+ years experience in LTL, distribution/logistics, transportation or operations management
Experience in a transportation management position
Experience working with and knowledge of employment laws i.e. ADA, FMLA, EEOC
Understanding of the full recruitment cycle and ability to promote employee retention
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Availability and willingness to travel throughout the Central Midwest
Ability to hold a high level of confidentiality
Desire to succeed and possess a winners mindset
Ability to resolve issues to a positive outcome or help employees see a positive with any issue.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Labor Relations of a multi-location region consisting of Drivers, Dockworkers and Mechanics
Monitoring and managing the disciplinary process amongst Terminal Managers and management staff for any discipline that impacts the labor group
Conducting full investigations of employee zero tolerance claims or charges
Audit and manage the On-Boarding and Retention of labor force
Handling and managing Hot Line phone calls and general support in issue resolution regarding the labor force
Ensure communication between management and labor force is clear, effective, and positive through observation and coaching
Travel to all facilities within the region to build rapport and relationships with labor force and front line management
Assist in the training, development and recognition of staff
Fielding questions and issues on labor force’s FMLA, benefits and pay discrepancies
Assist in the communication of company objectives and policies across all levels of the region

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
10 hour shift
Monday to Friday
