Position Title

Research Analyst

Job Description

The Research Analyst is responsible for collecting data to support the college’s initiatives; analyzing research data; and developing appropriate analytical findings, projections, and trends for use in institutional decision-making. The Research Analyst creates and maintains various college dashboards; tracks and reports on institutional effectiveness performance indicators; completes multiple short and long-term projects and reports such as Program Review & Evaluation; provides research design support as needed including the use of statistical software to aid in the interpretation of data; reports on data results to target audiences.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in the areas of math, statistics, computer science, business analytics, social or behavioral science, or any related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in a higher education institution or other complex service organization
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to plan, organize and manage time; while responding in a timely manner to requests which require flexibility and prioritization skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision, independently and as a collaborative team member
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Microsoft Excel skill level especially functions, calculations, Pivot Tables, and enhanced data features
Two (2) or more years of experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data
Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications to support research activities
Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree preferred with an emphasis in research, statistics, measurement, or evaluation
Ability to perform data collection from a variety of database sources
Experience developing and designing data dashboards using data visualization software such as Power BI or Tableau
Demonstrated knowledge with statistical software such as SPSS, SAS

Physical Demands

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
Occasional standing, pushing, pulling, and grasping
Frequent reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work
No or very limited exposure to physical risk
No or very limited physical effort required
Lightwork duty; ability to lift 10 lbs.
The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods and use their hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and basic office equipment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear

Salary

$45,000 – $49,000
