Attic Salt is looking for a Planning and Allocations Manager to work directly with the Head of Product and Director of Operations on the top-line strategy to drive revenue through intentional and strategic product planning. The Planning and Allocations Manager will be entrenched in the Merchandising Department, bringing the buyers’ vision to the floor, and will be responsible for reporting on and updating the Open to Buy and managing product allocation and store inventory levels.

Who you are: Aside from someone who shares the same kinds of values described above, you are a data-loving Excel wizard with an understanding of the business side of retail. You know how to gather data and, more importantly, how to analyze and leverage it to affect positive changes. You have experience working with stakeholders across multiple departments, including merchandising/buying teams, distribution centers, information systems, and ecommerce roles. Direct experience in a similar role is helpful but not required; what is required is a firm grasp of retail data analysis, and some working experience in either buying, planning, or allocations.
The Planning and Allocations Manager will report to the Head of Product with a dotted line to the Director of Operations. This role is based in Austin, TX, however remote applications are welcome.
Initial responsibilities include:
· Maintain the Open to Buy by merchandise category.
· Collaborate with buying team to create strategy to deliver top line sales and profitability to targets.
· Manage receipts and markdowns against open to buy targets to optimize floor presentation and inventory turns.
· Create buy-up plans for buyers for keys season of Christmas and Back to School.
· Collaborate with distribution manager to achieve inbound/outbound flow strategies.
· Determine quantity to purchase for new and continuing SKU’s.
· Manage allocation for incoming merchandise, maintain on hand product targets by stores, keep store inventory levels appropriate to store size and sales volume.
· Suggest markdowns and reorder opportunities across all categories and identify potential inventory liabilities.
· Work with buyers and visual merchandisers to create productive store presentations, assorting merchandise across categories.
· Analyze seasonal assortments and use data to create strategy for future seasons.
Requirements:
· 5+ years of related retail experience. Experience with apparel, accessories or gift preferred.
· 3+ years of retail planning experience.
· Strong analytical skills including the ability to read, analyze and interpret retail sales and inventory reports.
· Advanced Excel skills and a knack for manipulating data.
· Positive, flexible, and collaborative attitude with the ability to multitask. Your potential to succeed with us necessitates leaving your ego at the door.
· Some travel and weekend work required.
· Ideally, this position is based in our Austin, TX HQ.
