School District #6 is located in the famous Rogue River Valley of Southern Oregon, nestled between the Cascade and Siskiyou Mountain ranges. Longevity pay after completion of 6 years of employment

School Office Manager
Purpose: The School Office Manager ensures the efficiency and organization of the critical day-to-day school office operations by performing a wide range of complex senior-level clerical and administrative duties.
Reports to: Principal or Assistant Principal
Nature of Work: The School Office Manager performs independent work of a regular and recurring nature under the general supervision of the school administration. The nature of the work requires adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations. The work requires routine handling of sensitive materials and a commitment to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality. The position requires a high level of professional decorum, calmness and the ability to independently address problems of a varied nature.
Supervision Exercised: The incumbent does not have supervisory responsibilities but does provide guidance and direction to other non-licensed employees.
Interface: This job requires frequent interaction with school administration, teachers, non-licensed school staff, students and the general public.

Required Qualifications:Working Conditions:The School Office Manager works primarily indoors in an office environment. The position requires regular work at a computer, as well as the ability to write, hear and speak. The incumbent will also occasionally be required to kneel, bend or crouch. Potential exposures may include blood-borne pathogens and sick or injured students. The position requires high levels of interaction with children from diverse backgrounds, many of whom experiences behavior, academic, or physiological challenges.

Oversees and coordinates the office operations of a senior school administrator, including matters pertaining to scheduling, budget, personnel, record-keeping and correspondence.
Screens incoming calls, mail and visitors, responding independently to routine inquiries not requiring the attention of an administrator.
Schedules appointments, meetings and conferences and arranges travel as needed.
Serves as school administrator’s liaison to staff, other District departments and schools, and the general public.
Functions as school contact person during emergency situations.
Responsible for the management and assignment of substitutes.
Monitors and maintains various types of records, including financial expenditures, budgets, payroll, billing, personnel and grants, reports; prepares reports to the District office as required.
Manages associated student body funds, including receiving cash, making bank deposits, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Is responsible for the processing and verification of payroll materials.
Processes student registration, enrollment and transfers.
Greets and directs students, parents and other visitors to the school office.
Communicates with parents about student absences and other issues pertaining to student welfare.
Administers basic first-aid and medications to students in accordance with established medical protocols doctor’s instructions.
Produces typed and edited documents from oral or written instructions, including correspondence, reports, memoranda and interoffice communications.
Operates a variety of standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, fax machine and calculator.
Responsible for maintaining inventories of school supplies, including ordering, receiving and distribution.
Responds to general inquiries for information and assistance.
Maintains effective and respectful working relationships with staff and students.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess four years experience in a secretarial position.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Must be able to read, write, understand and follow multi-step written and verbal instructions in English.
