This position provides technical and creative support to project teams, utilizing BIM based applications. They are responsible for the concept, design development and final design phases of projects from initial scope to completion of construction.
What will I do?
Research, design, select and coordinate materials, equipment and fixtures that are functional and meet requirements for food/human safety, flexibility, building codes, installation, and established square foot boundaries
Utilize concepts of human dimensioning, imagery, storyboarding, value engineering and architectural/engineering design techniques, evaluate practices and make recommendations regarding complexities and methods
Collaborate with Merchandising, Store Operations, Maintenance, and manufacturers to address design needs, find creative solutions to problems, and deliver projects on time and within budget
Ensure designs meet our criteria and parameters, educate and advise on design standards/procedures and translate technical information into an easy to use format
Partner with internal business partners to execute the concept, schematic, design development, permit, construction, and final design phases of projects from initial scope to completion of construction
Use a variety of systems and applications to draft concepts and bring ideas to life, produce architectural/interior design work on specific projects and assist in the preparation of construction documents
Coordinate architectural, electrical, plumbing, special systems, and mechanical drawings for design, review, and construction on assigned projects with stakeholders and consultants
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or related program of study
3 or more years of experience using Autodesk Revit in an Architecture or Design role
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and design software (i.e. Unifi, Sketchup, VR, 3D rendering, Photoshop, Autodesk products)
Knowledge of the construction documentation process
Knowledge of drawing package components, including plans, elevations, details, and schedules
Knowledge of equipment and fixtures
Experience designing retail and/or food-oriented projects, including knowledge of applicable codes and food safety considerations, is preferred
