Full Job Description :-
This requisition is looking for an experienced Design Engineer with a solid foundation in a variety of Design techniques for our Aftermarket Seating department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Design complex components requiring in depth surfacing skills to support injection molded, vacuum formed, and additive manufactured designs.
Design mechanical systems to achieve a desired equipment packaging outcome utilizing sheet metal and machined components.
Perform wire routing through mechanical systems and shrouded structure.
Design ownership of product life-cycle including initial concept through production and product support.
Design mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability and maintainability.
Prepare, modify and release drawings created in CAD (Unigraphics) to verify fit, form and function of mechanical designs.
Verify structural acceptability of designs by testing prototypes for reliability and FAA certification through dynamic crash testing.
Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs including communicating with current and new suppliers.
Operate in a fast-paced, team environment with other functional areas providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews.
Lend design support to all functions of the Aftermarket Seating business.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

5-8 years of experience designing complex detail components utilizing surfacing and mechanical design skills.
Prior experience in the design of mechanical systems for commercial aircraft seating products is a plus.
Experience working with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
Familiarity with FAA requirements a plus.
