Responsibilities:

Position Overview
Express is looking for a whip-smart, super-creative Senior Manager, Content Editor with a passion for storytelling and strong conceptual skills. (Geek over great copy? You’re in good company.) This role will help define the brand’s messaging—from monthly campaigns to product launches—creating a clear roadmap for omni execution.
Our ideal candidate has a 360-degree point of view and knows how to conceptualize a narrative across various mediums (email vs. inline, TikTok vs. Reels, site vs. app) and has fun doing it. Above all, you’re a self-starter who’s hungry to push boundaries and create best-in-class copy with an ambitious team. This leadership role reports to the head of brand voice and editorial.

Key Responsibilities
40% Concepting
Develop and execute 360-degree seasonal campaigns and monthly conceptual messaging across all channels.
Work with channel and creative partners to ensure compelling and consistent execution.
Explore and bring new, disruptive content ideas and storytelling formats to Express.
Research trends by frequenting social media, fashion sites, reading current magazines and staying abreast of competitive landscape.
Partner with design, marketing, social and UX teams to create vibrant, dynamic storytelling.
40% Writing & Editing
Lead a unified storytelling POV across all channels based on the product and brand strategies.
Build and maintain a central editorial calendar as well as editorial/asset roadmaps and communication tools that aid in the translation of product, brand and editorial storytelling across all marketing, media and commerce channels.
Work with channel and creative partners to ensure compelling and consistent execution.
Create clear messaging hierarchies and roadmaps.
Partner with merchandising and design to become an Express product expert, utilizing that knowledge in customer-facing education.
Edit deliverables for clarity and messaging priorities.
Ensure copy accurately projects the brand voice.
Analyze and optimize copy for performance and best practices.
20% Social Media
Tactfully leverage online/offline trends to create brand-right content across all social verticals.
Utilize new and emerging social features to advance brand narratives and product priorities.
Build and engage our style community through conversational copy and dialogue-sparking prompts.
Identify source footage, materials and the required tools and assets to repurpose the assets quickly and efficiently into compelling social media content.
Partner with social media team to analyze performance and optimize content.
Required Experience & Qualifications
8+ years of experience; ecommerce, editorial, social media and/ or fashion industry preferred
Minimum of 2 years management experience in a creative setting
B.A. in English, creative writing or related field
Previous retail or agency experience a plus

Demonstrated meticulous knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation and standard writing styles
Deadline-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
