You will work in what we affectionately call the “CreativeCave,” located in the historic Carter Hall (you know, the one that looks like a castle). The Social Media Content Creator position manages and oversees creation of organic, digital content for all social media channels, with a focus on generating engaging and informative content for our key audiences: prospective students, current students, and the general Covenant community.
This role will have a strong focus on video content with the ability to create videos that feel native to each platform. This position will also manage strategy, audience engagement, and platform growth, with opportunity to cross-train on the ad campaign management side.

Manage and develop monthly organic content focused on story-telling each aspect of the Covenant Ascent while building meaningful connections, increasing brand awareness and encouraging community members to engage with the brand
Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy after conducting competitive research, platform determination, messaging and audience identification.
Create content focused on video format, native for all social channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, SnapChat, TikTok and more.
Assist with creation of visual/multimedia content for digital marketing ads.
Collaborate with Digital Marketing and Associate Director of Digital Marketing to develop social media campaigns and content based on overall objectives.
Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
Capture and analyze the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and social media best practices to measure the success of every social media campaign, then use that information to refine future campaigns
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure content is informative and appealing and ensure a consistent, integrated brand perception and visual identity..
Provide support on and/or lead other projects as assigned by the Associate Director of Digital Marketing.


Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Proven project management skills with the ability to take initiative.
Demonstrated ability to follow directions and complete tasks accurately.
Ability to work independently within a team-based dynamic.
Demonstrate strong oral, writing and editing skills.
Ability to craft and implement strategies focused on marketing objectives and goals.
Think and act strategically – ability to build a long-term social media presence
Up-to-date on modern practices in videography and photography
Always be innovating, initiating, and creating.
Deal with ambiguity – have a bias for action, but an ability to work cohesively with other stakeholders.


1-2 years of experience working in related fields.
Proficiency in Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and iMovie required.
Experience with multiple camera types for film and photography.
Bachelor’s degree


Prior work with a liberal arts college/university is preferred.
Familiarity with nontraditional digital communications such as podcasts/audio, OTT channels, etc.
Experience using Slate CRM or similar platforms


An acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
An understanding of the mission and purpose of Covenant College.
Must be able to assent to Covenant College’s Staff Commitments.


This role is expected to be performed on campus unless otherwise directed or arranged for and operates primarily in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Remain in a stationary position at least 90% of the workday.
Lifting: occasionally; classified as light, lifting or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) up to 10 lbs.
