What’s the job?
Reporting to the Director of Sales, Specialties, the “Technical Sales Manager (TSM), BIM & VDC Services” (BIM: Building Information Model) (VDC: Virtual Design and Construction) for CertainTeed Architectural is responsible for working with Owner Representatives, Architects, General Contractors, Ceiling and MEP Subcontractors, plus Independent Manufacturer Representatives, CertainTeed Sales and Product teams designing and promoting project-specific and product-specific conceptual designs, design development collaboration, and construction document solutions to meet Owners, Architects and Contractors’ needs. The TSM, BIM & VDC Services will know and understand our product solution capabilities in the context of CSI Divisions 6, 7, 8, 9 and competitive solutions; interior ceilings/walls and exterior soffit/cladding system design parameters; and MEP integration.
Maintain direct contact with Architects, Contractors, independent Manufacturers Reps, Sales and product teams, regarding project promotion and sales efforts to convert project opportunities to profitable sales.
Through design efforts, develop product and project solutions to win projects to achieve CertainTeed business goals.
Directly engage clients with product expertise for project-based and product-based applications.
Very strong ability to conduct on-site discoveries, problem resolutions and presentations to clients (Owners, Architects, Contractors)
Internal Sales Departments / Bid Centers / Engineering & Design Departments
On key projects, perform and guide design development promotional activities
Collaborate and lead project development
Strong project specific promotion and sales assistance.
From time to time, assist with and review design of new products and promotional materials.
Identify and communicate potential business opportunities through communications with representatives/architects in the field
Represent CertainTeed Specialties at trade shows

What do you bring?
Undergraduate degree/diploma in Architecture, Building Science or Construction Mgt.
3 years of CSI Division 7 or 9 product experience
5 years’ experience of AutoCAD, Revit; BIM interface, rendering software collaborative software.
5 years’ experience dealing with Architects and/or Contractors
Ability to work from early design concept through BIM through Shop Drawing stages with self and/or Design team.
Enjoy challenge of troubleshooting product applications on jobsites
Experience with Independent Manufacturer Reps a plus.
Personal characteristics exemplifying a thorough, curious, dedicated, and ambitious work ethic
Proven ability to interact with customers/representatives
Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and flex form landmark project work to quick one-off requests
Successful experience in Business-to-Business sales
Ability to coordinate and assist with in-house or jobsite mock-up installations
