Description of Job

Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV)

The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) provides services used by nearly every citizen of the State. Colorado citizens utilize identification, driver, and vehicle services at State and County offices to obtain identification cards, driver licenses, vehicle registrations, titles, and other related services. Additionally, the DMV licenses and provides oversight of private businesses and government organizations that provide driver and emission testing services. Finally, the division works closely with other state agencies and programs to provide information and education to serve the public and encourage voluntary compliance.

We are currently hiring for an Office Manager to direct the daily operational activities for our Loveland driver’s licensing office. If you are a detail oriented, customer driven/focused, and organized professional-this may be the perfect opportunity for you!

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

Monitoring and managing daily production, testing, office activity, workflow, and overall efficiency in a full service office;
Opening and preparing office for daily business well as end of day procedures;
Ensuring all work and transactions comply with statutory requirements, department policies, program directives, and standard operating procedures;
Auditing transactions for compliance with standards;
Monitoring customer flow and wait times;
Supervising staff;
Providing data and regular reports on operations, staffing concerns, employee issues, customer issues, and possible fraudulent activity;
Identifying process and procedural issues and recommends improvements or changes;
Resolving customer conflicts and issues and;
Performing all functions of line staff when high volume dictates.
This position may be required to travel to other Driver License Offices to assist with daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Five years of experience in a public facing, technical customer service or regulatory environment or an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position (i.e., administrative assistant, customer service representative, teller). Substitutions: Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. (For example, college coursework in Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or similar related functional area will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis).

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Additional years of direct supervisory experience leading a workforce interacting with the general public
Additional years of department management experience, establishing performance goals and evaluating workforce performance
Intermediate to advanced computer and data entry skills
Driver License Fundamentals (DLF) Certified

Necessary Special Requirements

Colorado Fingerprint-based Criminal History Record Check Requirement: At the time of onsite interview, applicants to this position are required to submit fingerprints and authorize the hiring authority to complete a fingerprint-based criminal history record check through the Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation; pursuant to Colorado State Law 42-1-244 C.R.S. (2015). The department may use this information to make employment decisions concerning such employees.

Applicants must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted State of Colorado driver’s license at the time of application (out of State Driver’s Licenses will NOT be accepted)

Conditions of Employment with the Colorado Department of Revenue: 1. As a condition of employment with the Colorado Department of Revenue, a requirement exists that all personnel timely file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and timely pay tax obligations. As such, all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. 2. Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence. All job finalists require successful completion of a background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Background checks may include national criminal, financial, traffic, civil, education, and/or experience checks or any other checks related to the job assignment. Fingerprint background checks and pre-employment drug testing may also be required for some positions.
3. Effective September 20, 2021, employees will be required to attest to and verify whether or not they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Employees who have not been fully vaccinated may be required to submit to serial testing in the future. Upon hire, new employees will have three (3) business days to provide attestation to their status with proof of vaccination. Vaccinated employees must provide proof of vaccination.
Note: Fully Vaccinated means two (2) weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series of the COVID-19 vaccine, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two (2) weeks after the single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine, as defined by the most recent State of Colorado’s Public Health Order and current guidance issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.
