Job Description

The Video Editor Associate works closely with the video production team, instructional designers, and multimedia designers in the post-production stage of course development in the production of content-rich academic videos as directed by Video Production Manager. They also coordinate regularly with the Lead Video Editor and Video Production Manager on the status of their assigned courses.


BFA or BA in Cinema or related field (ex. Editing/Post-Production) required.
Three (3) plus years of video production experience in a professional environment.
Proficient in Adobe Premiere, Media Encoder After Effects, Photoshop, Audition and Davinci Resolve.

Job Specific Qualifications

Must have a fundamental understanding of video and audio editing and color correction.
Detailed technical knowledge of video codecs and transcoding for web delivery.
Expert knowledge of data management, equipment compatibility and post-production workflow.
Understanding of basic computer network concepts, including cloud and server-based solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience with the academic environment.


Ingest, logging, syncing, and organization of media. Post-production project setup, editing, on-lining, archiving video, delivery, and managing of digital asset.
Assemble footage into string outs, rough, fine, and final cuts while maintaining professional standards.
Receive and implement notes regarding the editing of projects based on content and input from the producers, instructional designers, and faculty members.
Perform initial color correction passes and preliminary sound sweetening.
Provide graphics support utilizing Adobe After Effects and Creative Suite.
Ensure quality control and consistency on final deliverables utilizing and recommending advanced technologies, workflows, and post-production methodologies.
Archiving and maintaining record of master files, making sure all footage is secured and backed up.
Ability to help with on-set production when needed.
