Flintridge Preparatory School is seeking a web and content manager. This position combines creative skill, technical proficiency, and a collaborative spirit to create and manage assets across multiple media and ensure clarity and consistency in the school’s outward-facing media.
A skilled marketing and communications professional, the web and content manager will manage multiple new and ongoing creative projects in a bustling communications environment, partnering and actively engaging with all constituents in the school community.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign/Creative
Manage the school website and the school presence across multiple media platforms.
Manage all digital assets, including video, photos, and archives.
Design, publish, and manage microsites for academic programs, Summer School, the Annual Fund, etc.
Provide critical input and design expertise to school communications, including email messaging templates.
Integrate digital assets with materials created by others and in other mediums.
Manage the school’s social media presence, creating authentic, compelling, consistent, and targeted content.
Website and Back-End Management
Manage primary and secondary websites using multiple content management systems.
Provide UX expertise to guide website development.
Maximize the school’s online presence using SEO, AdWords, Google Analytics, and other tools.
Write, edit, and proofread content in collaboration with colleagues.
Train and guide parent volunteers in their communications.
Manage email contact lists and communications schedules.
Project Management
Develop a schedule for performing daily, monthly, and annual website updates to improve site performance and quality.
Partner with and stakeholders, the Communications Team, and graphic designers to achieve their goals and represent the school.
Create schedules, set deadlines, and establish workflows to ensure completion of multiple, often overlapping, creative project deliverables.
Liaise with parents, colleagues, students, and vendors, including designers, photographers, video artists, and illustrators.
Manage existing digital assets; develop and maintain visual style guidelines.
Other project-related tasks as assigned for the school’s websites, email campaigns, and digital initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, analytical, and organizational skills.
A willingness to give and accept feedback to provide the best solutions for the school.
A BA degree in marketing, communications, or related field, and demonstrated experience managing web content in a professional setting, ideally in a nonprofit or independent school setting.
Experience with web creation tools such as WordPress, CMS, email marketing software, Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing software.
A passion for new ideas and new media and the ability to concentrate in a fast-paced, bustling (and fun) environment.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with school systems such as Blackbaud and Finalsite.
Google and social ad creation and strategy experience.
A firm understanding of branding principles and experience creating brand policies and guidelines.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive community, advancing cultural competency, working with diverse populations, and learning about and practicing antiracist work.
An interest in education and educational environments, and an enthusiasm for engaging and connecting with students, faculty, staff, and parents.
Strong attention to detail, an analytical mind, and outstanding problem-solving skills.
A keen design eye, strong writing skills, and excellent editing and proofreading skills.
